This is the first time I have ever used Chia seeds in a recipe and as they are full of health benefits I wanted to spread the word about how useful these tiny seeds can become as part of a healthy lifestyle.
They are full of nutrients and antioxidants, not to mention very high in quality protein as well. This will help you stay much fuller for longer which is perfect if you’re watching your calorie intake.
Chia seeds can be used in a wide-variety of dishes and drinks, and today’s recipe proves just how well they work in conjunction to other tasty ingredients. They can be eaten on their own but personally I prefer them combined with something sweet.
This smoothie recipe is perfect for an ‘energy-boosting’ start to a morning, full of fruity goodness and is best served immediately after blending.
Serves 2 | 10 Minutes Prep
2 Apples (peeled & chopped, core removed)
1/2 Pineapple (core removed)
1 Banana (peeled & sliced)
200ml Fresh Orange Juice
Handful of Chia Seeds
Combine the ingredients into a blender and mix until all ingredients have fully blended.
At this point, add the Chia seeds or add to the glass once you have poured into a glass.
