Top 5 Extraordinary Sports You Should Try

06/03/2020 by Adam

Even though it’s now March, it doesn’t mean that you’ve run out of time to take up a fun new sport. But if you’ve been thinking about starting a new activity for a while and you’re stuck for inspiration, then the starting process can seem daunting.

Maybe you don’t like the traditional sports like swimming or going to the gym and want to start something that’s more unique? If this is the case, then this article is perfect for you.

Within this list, you’ll find some extraordinary sports that are bound to impress – no matter what your age or ability!

  • Yoga

Starting off this list is the popular, yet often forgotten about yoga. Despite being a billion-dollar market, many people still opt for other sports over this. But there are so many benefits that you can reap from it. Not only can it increase your flexibility, but it can help to maintain your metabolism and benefit your cardiovascular health.

An ideal form of exercise for younger adults and seniors, there are so many Yoga Classes to choose from globally.

  • Hiking

When you’re stuck at your desk all day, you won’t have the opportunity to get outside and take in the fresh air. Which is why this sport is so worth it. On the weekend or when you have an afternoon to spare, why don’t you head out on a local hiking trail? This will give you the opportunity to not only get some exercise and fresh air in but to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery that’s around you.

  • Quidditch

Now, you might be wondering, isn’t this only for the actors in Harry Potter? However, this fun and unique sport has taken over after beginning in colleges across the country. Featuring two teams of seven players, you’ll mount a broomstick and play an on-the-ground version of the iconic game.

With so many clubs offering this around the country, it’s a sport that’s definitely out of this world.

  • Unicycle Hockey

This sport will appeal no matter what your age – as long as you’re able to ride a unicycle of course! During this quirky take on hockey, you’ll be put in a team of five players. The aim of the game is to keep the opponent’s ball out of your goal by using a hockey stick.

As it requires balance and control, this extraordinary sport has the benefit of tightening your core muscles and giving you an effective cardiovascular workout.

  • Underwater Soccer

This is the perfect goofy game to play if you’ve hired a local pool builder to install a nice deep swimming pool in your backyard. Using snorkelling equipment, you’ll be tasked with transporting the football to the goal at the other end of the pool. As the ball is weighted and it’s done in a full-sized swimming pool, your whole body will get an amazing workout from this sport.

Final Thoughts

So, there you go! Those are 5 extraordinary sports that you can try. Of course, the sport that you choose to do is up to you. But whatever one you opt for, you’re bound to have an unforgettable experience that will remain in your memories forever.
