How to Stay Fit and Lose Weight this Winter by Skiing

Are you on a quest to find ways that you can be active outdoors and lose weight this winter? Winter can typically be a bit trickier when it comes to outdoor activities, with many not loving the idea of being out in the cold. Here’s the thing though, when you’re moving around and being active, and you’re dressed properly (including the right safety clothing like a mens ski helmet), then being cold or unsafe isn’t going to be an issue. You’ll learn more about snow safety in ski school if you decide to take skiing lessons to get you up to the point where you can confidently ski by yourself.

So, if you’re looking for a way to be active, get fit, and even lose some weight this winter then skiing could be the perfect activity for you. Exercise is the perfect way to lose weight, however, if you are super serious about losing weight and becoming healthy then you should consult a doctor first. You can check out a Gastric Sleeve, Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, which may be a good option for you to try if you are fighting obesity, then perhaps afterwards you can take a wonderful trip skiiing.
Here’s a look at some of the top benefits to skiing.

Burn Calories While You Have Fun

Instead of burning calories by performing a typical “exercise”, skiing gives you a chance to have fun, hang out with friends, and get some fresh air all while burning calories. For a person who weighs 155lbs, you can expect to burn about 223 calories per half hour while you downhill ski. If you weigh 185lbs, that number increases to 266 calories in a half hour.

Strengthen Your Joints and Bones

Another health benefit of skiing is that it works to strengthen your joints and bones. Your body will be working hard as you ski, with lots of turning and crouching involved. By strengthening your joints and bones, you will actually be helping to prevent osteoporosis and knee damage.

Cardio Exercise without Even Knowing It

Most people will tell you that cardio is just about the most dreaded of all exercises. It gets boring, it’s not just a quick few reps, and it’s just not something people look forward to. This is why skiing can be so great. It works as a cardiovascular workout, but you won’t feel as though you’re doing a typical cardio session. Skiing allows you to take part in a sport with friends, so you can be laughing and having fun all while exercising.

Build Your Core

The list just goes on and on with the health benefits skiing promotes. Your core is another area that will be strengthened as you ski. You will constantly be working to keep your balance on the slopes, which means you will be engaging your core the whole time. Skiing is also a good opportunity to go traveling and can even take you to vacation apartments in Arinsal – why wouldn’t you want to get fit and see more of the world at the same time?

Get All Your Skiing Tips and Information

If you do decide that you’re ready to take up skiing, or perhaps you are already a skier and just want to update your equipment, then you will want to check out the content on the realskiers.com forum. Here you can find SMF New content/threads that will answer such hot topic questions like whether the Kastle FX 84 are right for you and your needs. The forum is a great place to get advice, help, and direction on all things skiing related.

A Fun and Healthy Way to Get Fit this Winter

Skiing truly is that fun and healthy way to get fit and lose weight this winter. Whether you’re new to the sport or you’ve had experience with it in the past, it’s a great activity to take part in.
