How To Build Muscle Without Hitting The Gym

10/10/2018 by Adam

Getting toned is difficult and it usually involves a lot of time spent in the gym lifting weights. That’s fine for some people and they absolutely love it, but it’s not for everybody. If you’re one of those people that hates hitting the gym every couple of days, you’re really going to struggle to keep it up. So, you can either accept that you’re never going to get the body that you want or you can find another way. The good news is, there is another way. There are plenty of sports that will help you to stay fit and, more importantly, help you to build and tone muscle. For example, to help you gain muscle you can easily take a supplement like these l-glutamine tablets, as well as doing the exercises below.

Rowing

You might already be using the rowing machine at the gym but when you’re staring at the blank wall in front of you, it’s not that exciting and you’ll quickly get tired of it. But rowing is a great way to build muscle because the majority of the muscles in your body are active. That means you’ll build muscle evenly which is very important.

One of the biggest mistakes that people make when they’re doing weights in the gym is that they only focus on certain areas and neglect others. This can cause you all sorts of problems with posture amongst other things. So, rowing is great, but it’s pretty dull doing it on a machine in the gym. But if you exercise outside on a nice lake, it’s a whole different story. As well as a great muscle building workout, you’re getting outside and exercising in a nice environment. Joining a team also adds a social element which makes it more fun and less of a chore.

Wrestling

We’re not talking about the kind of wrestling you see on the TV with crazy characters and ridiculous acrobatics, although that will get you incredibly fit. We’re talking about traditional wrestling, the kind that you see in the Olympics. You need a lot of upper and lower body strength to be a good wrestler.

If you get into it in a big way and start entering competitions, you’ll have to maintain a strict weight so it gives you that extra push to eat right and tone up rather than bulking out which isn’t always what you want. If you are going to start getting into it in a serious way, you’ll need to invest in some wrestling singlets to wear to matches. But apart from that you shouldn’t need to spend anything so, not only is it more interesting than the gym, it’s also a lot cheaper.

Swimming

There’s a reason why a swimmers body is the often considered the peak of physical fitness. When you swim, you’re activating most of your muscles at the same time so, like rowing, you’re building muscle evenly. The resistance in the water is enough to help you build muscle but you won’t wear out as quickly as you would if you were lifting weights in the gym so you can do longer workouts.

If you want to build muscle but you hate the idea of doing weights, try some of these great alternatives instead.
