Getting Fit On A Budget

25/10/2018 by Adam

When it comes down to it, everyone out there knows how to lose weight and manage their weight but it’s the getting there that’s the problem. Everyone knows the steps to getting healthier on the inside; it’s around us all day every day on social media, in the news and on the high street. However, if you haven’t got the budget – or the time –  to be in the gym every day of the week, it’s easy to stop being motivated.

As an adult, though, you have the knowledge and the Googling power to get online and figure out how to get fit when your local gym memberships can’t fit into your already stretched budget. Also, money is mostly an excuse. Sure, the gym can be expensive when you want to pay out for a trainer with all the bells and whistles in your package, but if you haven’t got the cash for that, you need to lower your expectations. You could go a few ways here, for example:

  • Shopping with www.nordictrackpromocodes.com for discounts on exercise equipment that you can run in the home. The satisfaction of not getting up in the cold and rain should be motivation enough.
  • Cut down on the membership package. Do you REALLY need a personal trainer when you can bring your Instagram influencers to the gym with you? They’re as motivational as anything!
  • Realise that the pavement outside is free to run on and there are programmes like this that can help you learn to run properly.

Each of these things can help you to lower your budget and your expectations, but that’s not all. Fitness is important, and while you’re considering your exercise options, you need to think about the other elements of health and wellbeing.

  • Skip out on the fad diet trends that promise to make you skinny yesterday. You don’t need to be ‘skinny’, you need to be healthy and health counts over everything else. There’s always going to be a tea or coffee or bunch of bananas that promise to make you sculpted. Ignore it all. Eat a balanced diet that will get you the health goals that you want. Plus, those faddy diets are usually pricey – save your cash!
  • Plan your healthy eating and exercise routine in advance so that you can have something concrete to stick to. If you want a McDonalds, plan to have one and plan it within your regime. One bad meal doesn’t undo your hard work and this can be the one cheat meal you factor into your weekly food budget.
  • When you’re getting in shape while digging your way out of debt go slowly. Aim to afford the personal trainer one day – if it’s not right now, it shouldn’t slow you down!

Your health and fitness is so much more important than you think, but your budget does need your consideration. Plan, plan and plan again because your entire life could depend on how you choose to get fit.
