24/09/2019 by Adam

The Val Nolasco Half Marathon is a yearly event that takes place in Honolulu, Hawaii. The race is open to the everyone and runners will have the opportunity to participate in either 5K or 10K runs in addition to the half marathon. The Val Nolasco Half Marathon is known for its stunning beauty with a course that wind around the coast with sparkling blue waters on one side and Diamond Head State Monument on the other.

It’s a spectacular race all around, with beginner-friendly shorter distances and a half marathon great for runners who wish to test themselves in preparation for full marathons. The scenic views that runners will enjoy in the Oahu area will be something they will never forget.

The Event

The Val Nolasco Half Marathon is held annually in November and begins at the Kapiolani Regional Park not far from the tennis courts. From there, the race will head toward Waikiki and eventually place runners on the Kalanianaole Highway until they reach Wailupe Circle. Runners will then turn around and head back to the park.

Entry fees range from $45 for runners who register for the Val Nolasco Half Marathon early to $75 for runners who sign up for the event on the day of the race. The fees for the 5K and 10K will be lower but have not been announced yet.

Accommodations in the Honolulu Area

The beaches of Hawaii are a major destination for world travelers throughout every part of the year. This is no exception when it comes to Waikiki Beach. Travelers interested in Honolulu hotels on the beach should check with the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa. The hotel allows a stay for occupants that is just a few steps from the soft sands and clear blue waters of Waikiki beach. Amenities include a world-class spa, a great dining experience, and a swimming pool that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

The Waikiki Grand Hotel is another good choice. The hotel bills itself as fun, convenient, and affordable, and that’s just what it is. Situated just a block from Waikiki Beach and very close to the race site near Diamond Head, it’s a good choice if you’re looking to save some money without sacrificing too many amenities.
