Watching your muscles grow and your strength improve can be hugely fascinating. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the most effective strength workouts.

Squats

This first one is not what most people think of when they are thinking about improving their strength. Chances are, you were thinking of barbells and biceps. However, in order to develop core strength, you need to work on the whole body – and the squat is just about the most powerful way to work on the whole body.

No matter who you are, performing ten to twenty squats in your workout session will soon have a dramatic impact on your overall body strength. If you are unsure how to do squats, it is worth getting your personal trainer to show you the proper method. Most people do not carry out squats in the right way, and it is not as effective, and can even lead to pains and injuries if done wrong.

Pull-Up

One of the most fundamental actions in developing strength is to be found in the pull-up. The great thing about the pull-up is that you are using your own body weight to carry out the exercise – hence why it is one of the so-called bodyweight exercise types.

With pull-ups, the trick is to take it as slowly as you possibly can. As long as you do that, you will be much more likely to really feel the burn, and that is when you know that you are getting the results you want. Although you might think that pull-ups favour the arms, in fact they are a fantastic exercise for more or less every part of the body. Include these in your workout and you are bound to feel the benefit in no time at all.

Lunges

Lunges are significantly less popular than the previous two options, and it is not hard to see why. However, done right, they do offer one of the best all-round strength building exercises known to humankind.

According to Supplement Critique, lunges are also an effective way to increase testosterone levels because they activate muscles like the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves and glutes.

One of the real advantages of the lunge is that you don’t really need to warm up for it; you can pretty much just drop and go. And if you fit enough of these into your daily session, you are bound to notice a real difference in how strong you are.
