The Val Nolasco Half Marathon is a yearly event that takes place in Honolulu, Hawaii. The race is open to the everyone and runners will have the opportunity to participate in either 5K or 10K runs in addition to the half marathon. The Val Nolasco Half Marathon is known for its stunning beauty with a course that wind around the coast with sparkling blue waters on one side and Diamond Head State Monument on the other.

The Event
The Val Nolasco Half Marathon is held annually in November and begins at the Kapiolani Regional Park not far from the tennis courts. From there, the race will head toward Waikiki and eventually place runners on the Kalanianaole Highway until they reach Wailupe Circle. Runners will then turn around and head back to the park.
Entry fees range from $45 for runners who register for the Val Nolasco Half Marathon early to $75 for runners who sign up for the event on the day of the race. The fees for the 5K and 10K will be lower but have not been announced yet.

Surfing Lessons
Guests who desire lessons in surfing need to look no further than the Billabong store that is on the resort premises. Lessons are available on a daily basis and are 190 minutes in length for up to four students.
Hawaiian Culture at Ho’okela
The culture and heritage of Hawaii are on full display at the Ho’okela Culture Center. Daily activities include ukulele lessons and classes in lei making. Historical walking tours and sessions in storytelling are also available at the culture center.
Bishop Museum Collection
This 8,000 square foot exhibit space was founded by Charles R. Bishopin 1889. The museum was founded as a tribute to Bishop’s wife and began as a repository for possessions once owned by Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, who was descended from the great Hawaiian King Kamehameha.
Diamond Head
This 760-foot volcanic peak provides visitors with a breathtaking view of Oahu. There is a trail available that is three-fourths of a mile in length and leads to the summit of the volcano. From this vantage point, the outlines of Molokai and Maui can be seen on a clear day.

Lovers of sea creatures will be amazed by a visit to the Waikiki Aquarium. The aquarium is home to more than 400 individual species of sea life and 2,500 organisms. The Waikiki aquarium features the Hawaiian Monk seal, sharks, and the only chambered nautilus that can be viewed at any aquarium in the world.
