8 Tips To Bring Your A-Game To The Gym

02/02/2017 by Adam

So, you’ve joined a gym, you’ve got one of the free Custom Drawstring Bags as a thank you for joining and now you’re wondering where to go from here. Or you’re thinking of joining a gym. Maybe you’re just starting out, or you’ve been going for a while. There are always ways to improve. Here are 8 tips that you can use to bring your A-game to the gym!

Go At The Right Time

Know the right time to go to the gym, so you can get on all of the equipment you need and really focus. If you go when the gym is too busy, you’re not going to feel very motivated to continue at all! You also need to know when you feel most raring to work out. For some, this is the morning, for others, the evening. Going at the right time will help you to get the most from your workout!

Make A Kickass Playlist

A kickass playlist is going to spur you on, whatever kind of horrible exercise you’re doing. Don’t continuously skip songs, as this can take more time away from your workout than you think. Make sure you have enough to see you through and just go for it!

Never Go In Without A Plan

Why would you walk into a gym without even knowing what you’re going to work that day? Are you working on upper body? Lower body? Are you aiming to burn fat? If you don’t know, you won’t get a good workout in. You’ll probably wonder around a little confused and leave when you’ve had enough. Many plans are free online, but you can buy one too.

Wear The Right Clothes

Make sure you’re wearing clothes that allow you to perform at your best. If you sweat a lot, then fitness clothes that help to keep you dry are a great idea. If you’ve had an injury in the past, knee bracing and support will help you to get things done.

Know What To Eat And When

Having something with protein and carbs about 60-30 minutes before a workout will give you energy. Some like to have protein oats or a protein shake with a piece of fruit. You should never go to the gym hungry, as you likely won’t perform very well.

Drink A Coffee

Coffee is more natural than a pre-workout drink, and will help you to focus. Just make sure you avoid the milk and sugar!
