Track your calorie intake

During the holiday season, tracking your calorie intake can help keep your weight on track. It can also provide you with valuable information about what you are missing from your diet. For some people, this can be a great way to avoid overeating or feeling unsatisfied after meals. So, if you’re able to, use a calorie-counting app such as MyFitnessPal, so you can keep an eye on all of this.

Avoid overeating

During the holiday season, it’s easy to get over-hungry and over-indulge. It’s not only bad for your waistline, but it can also increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes, anxiety, and other issues too. In addition, it can cause bloating and even make you feel sick in the short term. It’s important to set a reasonable food limit for your holiday functions. It’s also good to choose healthy snacks that aren’t high in fat and added sugar. So, ensure you keep a close eye on what you’re eating so you don’t accidentally eat too much.

Stay active

Chances are, you may have a terribly busy schedule during the holidays it’s also important to remember that physical activity is an important part of health and fitness. This will help you maintain energy, reduce stress, and sleep better. A brisk walk after dinner is a great way to stay active during the holidays. When you’re planning your workouts, make sure to find activities that you’ll enjoy. Try to squeeze in exercise whenever you’re able to.

Go for roasted vegetables

If you’re hosting or cooking up the holiday dinner, why not incorporate some healthy options? Roasted vegetables are an easy and delicious dish to serve alongside a variety of meats and poultry dishes, such as crispy baked chicken leg quarters. These veggies are perfect for meal prepping and can be stored for up to three or four days in a tightly covered container.

Pay attention to your feelings

Getting the most out of the holiday season doesn’t have to mean neglecting your health. There are many ways to enjoy the festivities while remaining healthy, so you should never try to feel as if you’re missing out. Remember, the food is only a small part of the holiday season. You don’t have to worry about missing out on anything. So, make sure you keep an eye on how you’re feeling and don’t let anyone guilt you for eating healthy, especially during this season.
