Workout At Home Without Breaking A Sweat

20/04/2017 by Adam

If you’re working out at home, you can’t do it without any equipment. We know there are plenty of people who will tell you that star jumps and sit ups are enough. Well, this might be okay if you are looking for a slow, gradual change. But if you want to see meaningful changes to your body in just a few weeks you need something more. Basically, what you need is a home gym. So when you are working out at home, you are focused with your mind on the fitness prize.

This is just a place where you can work out on a daily basis and build up that sweat, feeling the burn! You get the idea, but before you search online buying the first home gym set you find, there are a few things to consider.

Pump It Up Louder

Before you even think about buying any exercise equipment, you should consider buying a sound system for your gym. You ideally want a set of speakers you can plug your iPhone or mp3 player into because then you’ll be able to use the exact tunes you want which is great. It means you won’t be able to blame any poor performances on terrible tunes. You might shrug your shoulders at the idea of any music in your exercise routine at all.

Interestingly though, research shows that it can have an incredible effect on physical stamina and strength. Music can ensure you go for longer and harder, breaking through the psychological wall athletes often put up for themselves.

You’re probably not going to hire a trainer or a pro-PT for your home which is totally understandable. But you do need something or someone pushing you forward with motivation. Exercise videos deliver this need, and if you don’t want to buy an exercise video, you can just search for a motivation video on Youtube. Switch it on, turn up the volume and away you go. You won’t believe the impact this can have on your performance. Similar to music it can give you the motivation you need to work to reach that metaphorical extra mile.

Finally, Let’s Get Some Equipment

You don’t need too much equipment to get started exercising at home. For instance, if you don’t have much space, your first purchase might be a pull-up bar. The best pull up bar for your home can be installed anywhere ensuring you have an easy way to work out those upper arm muscles.

As well as this, you might want to buy some dumbbells with weights but don’t overdo it. You need enough weights to hold 15kg in each hand. That’s a nice point to work towards, and it will take you at least a few months.

Once you feel as though you’re gaining ground, you can think about investing in a full exercise bench. This will allow you to benchpress heavier weights and try a few different exercises.

Within a couple of months, you’ll start to see this home gym is doing wonders for your personal levels of fitness. Or at least, you will as long as you’re sticking to a constant exercise routine. You should fit in training at least once every other day otherwise there’s no way you’ll see results. Goodluck, you can do it!
