Work Hard, Play Hard And Eat Well

21/11/2016 by Adam

It’s important in life that you have fun. That’s the main objective isn’t it? But as well as this, you’ve got to take care of yourself. Let’s see how you can achieve both options together.

Eating well is so important in life. It’s vital to maintain a balanced diet and to drink at least 2 bottles of water per day to keep you hydrated and fighting fit. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that’s for a reason. It wakes you up and sets on your day but also fights high blood pressure and heart disease. A great example would be poached eggs and avocado on multigrain toast. This kind of meal provides all the nutrients to help you live your life to the max and it’s incredibly tasty too!

Always allow your food to digest before doing some exercise. Whether you go for a morning walk with the dog or go for a run on one of your Treadmills, it’s essential that you warm up for a few minutes beforehand. This will help in reducing muscular injuries and will ensure higher blood flow round your body. A cool down is also vital, in order to help the body transition itself to a resting state. However long you do your exercise for, you should ensure that you are stretching all of your muscles and keeping them in great working order. If they hurt at the end of the day, you’ve done your job. Well done!

After your cool down, it’s important that you relax. A cold bath for a few minutes before jumping into a hot shower is best, according to experts. This will get rid of those waste products and will reduce swelling caused by your exercise. A hot shower will open your pores and relax your body.

Your other meals of the day should be of a good balance. Try eating some protein mixed in with some healthy lettuce leaves to strengthen your bones and muscles. A chicken salad would be perfect here. After lunch, you could go for a swim in the local baths to work your arm and leg muscles further or even a pilates class to test your flexibility and balance. The choice is entirely yours. For dinner, why not work on your carbs with a pasta dish? Adding tomato and basil will make it even more flavoursome and they’re especially good for your digestive system too. You’ve certainly eaten well today haven’t you but you deserve it!

Getting a good night’s sleep is imperative after a day of exercise. It gives the body a chance to breathe and relax and you’ll definitely see a marked improvement in the morning. Don’t stay up too late or the body will start to ache and cause you further pain. This is a sign for you to let it rest.

But don’t worry, it will be fine in the morning so then you can start doing it all over again. Working hard, playing hard and eating well has never been so fun.
