Top weight loss tips for Moms on the go

15/02/2018 by Adam

As any busy Mom knows full well, it can be incredibly difficult to eat well, stay active and juggle all those household chores – especially if you are trying to follow a diet. However, if you are trying to lose weight and shape up then a calorie-controlled diet isn’t always the answer. You still need to have enough energy to run around after your little ones after all! You might have been guilty of crash dieting or overeating in the past, but worry not, 2018 is the time to shape up your weight loss routine for the better. Keep these tips to hand if you want to make sure you lose weight, and remain at your goal weight.

Get active

Sure, you make time to pick the kids up from swimming or soccer practice, but what about you? If you are guilty of making excuses or have given up on exercise – then stop! It’s time to block out your calendar and make sure that you take the time to get up and active for a few hours each week. From enjoying a walk in the park with friends or your little ones to booking in to do a new class at your local sports center, there is a range of fun ways that you can be sure to get active – and achieve results. Try to schedule a Yoga or Pilates class too, as this will provide you with vital downtime and enable your muscles to recover between workouts.

Prep and Plan

Ok, planning a week’s meals can be tough, especially if your kids are seriously fussy eaters or won’t touch a vegetable. However, if you want your entire family to benefit from those positive diet and lifestyle changes you are making, then you need to get prepping and planning everything you and your clan eat. Start with a basic meal plan, which can be changed and altered at the last minute if you need too – just in case you have friends around for dinner. Next, always opt to buy organic and fresh fruit and vegetables to ensure that your entire family get their vitamins and minerals. Finally, keep your cupboards well stocked – you never know when you might need another bag of rice.

Choose healthy snacks

You might have heard that eating little and often is the best way to lose weight, but this only works if you are reaching for healthy snacks over the cookie jar! If you struggle to choose healthy options or often find yourself feeling hungry, then top rated weight loss shakes offer a low-fat alternative to sugary snacks. To avoid temptation, clear candies and chocolates, and keep healthy alternatives in your refrigerator for when hunger strikes.

It can be tough if you are trying to lose weight and look after your entire household too. However, losing weight and making healthier lifestyle choices will benefit your family and kids in the long term. Try prepping your meals, keeping healthy snacks in stock and be sure to pencil in some activities to get you up and active if you want to lose weight.
