Top House Projects That Will Feel Like a Full-Body Workout

If you’re big into working out and personal fitness, then it’s probably rare that a day goes by where exercise doesn’t make it into your routine. With that said, unfortunately, there isn’t always time for that full-blown workout, which can leave you feeling frustrated and as though you’re not getting enough activity in your day. Rather than just look at the typical types of exercises and hitting up the gym, it can be helpful to look at things with a bit more of a creative eye.

For those who have some house projects in mind this spring and summer, you may be surprised to learn at just how much of a workout they can be for your body. Here we’ll take a look at the top house projects that will help you burn calories and stay fit. Keep in mind, there are some projects that are too big of an undertaking to attempt on your own and would perhaps be better done using Affordable Home Services if you’re looking to tackle things like your home’s roofing or siding.

Replace the Flooring in Your Home

One activity that is sure to have you sweating is ripping up flooring and laying all new material down. Let’s imagine you will be removing old and tired carpet and replacing it with all new plush and luxurious carpet from the Carpet Superstore, which is known for its extremely reasonable prices. According to experts you will burn 238 calories per hour. Typically removing and then laying new carpet is a full day job, so you can quickly add up the calories you’ll be able to burn. Whatever the reason for the updated flooring, with many affordable carpet options being so attractive these days, a bit of manual labor is a small price to pay to get your floors looking like that of a show house.

Painting Will Leave You in Top Shape

Painting may not sound like an overly physical activity, but in reality it’s a huge workout for your entire body. You can expect to burn about 357 calories per hour when painting and you’ll also be using muscles that may not typically be used. After a day or two of painting, your body is sure to feel it and be rather stiff and sore. This project does require a bit of DIY knowledge so if you don’t know how to do this then contact the Austin Fence Company – Fence Repair & Installation. You can just ask if you can help them paint so you’re still burning calories!

Put Up a New Fence in the Yard

Maybe it’s the yard that needs a little attention, in particular the fence. Over time a wooden fence takes a real beating and can become old and warped. At that point, it may be necessary to replace it; to stop this from happening in the future, it’s worth making sure that you go to the best timber suppliers. Then again maybe you’re building a fence for the first time, which means you’re going to need to deal with a post-hole digger. If that’s the case then expect to burn almost 500 calories an hour! That’s right, setting a new fence in place is extremely labour-intensive and burns about 476 calories per hour.

Rearranging Furniture and Moving New Pieces into Place

For those who are thinking about rearranging the existing furniture in their home, or perhaps purchasing new pieces that will then need to be moved into place, you can expect to burn 408 calories per hour. Moving furniture takes a lot of energy and exertion, which helps to boost the amount of calories burned.

Go About Your Projects and Mark it Down as a Workout

What this shows is that you can go about all those DIY projects you have planned and mark it as a workout all at the same time.
