This is the multi-billion pound question, ‘how can I lose weight?’. Companies, advertisers, personal trainers, surgeons etc have made billions trying to correct the problem of obesity. In this chapter I won’t be addressing their solutions because they have their own expertise which I very much respect. What I will discuss is how I did it.
As I’ve said before, the heavier you are, the easier it is too lose weight from a change in your lifestlye. It’s why when we watch TV shows like ‘The Bigger Loser’ you see the contestants lose something like ’20 pounds in 1 week’ simply because now they’ve got no choice but to make healthier eating choices and are in an evironment where they have to exercise or go home.
Their will has changed and they want to do this to better themselves. For certain, it is easier in a controlled environment such as that but for the majority of us we have got to be disciplined enough to want to do this for ourselves and learn to create our own ‘controlled environment’.
The more control you have in your life and the environment in which you spend the majority of your time, the easier it will be to make these changes and get the results you’re after. Take a moment now to think about where you spend the majority of your time. Most would say at work and at home but think about your environment carefully.
In the next chapter we will focus on the specifics of your home environment, particularly the kitchen and optimise how to change where you live for the greater benefit of your goals.
