Slendertone – Week 2

07/10/2014 by Adam

Slendertone Wk 2

My second week with the Slendertone Abs belt was very much about getting used to the feel of the increased levels of pressure the belt was introducing to my stomach. I never realised just how powerful the belt actually was until I reached Level 60 on the 6th Programme Choice.

Maybe this was obvious before I even put the belt on, but it’s true that the higher level, the more you feel your stomach muscles contracting. In fact, there were a couple of times this week that I had no choice but to lower the levels during a session because of the discomfort it was causing me.

I don’t see this so much as a fault though because even with exercise and choosing suitable weights, you’ve got to find your limits, push through the pain but still know when it’s right to go down a level for the sake of your body and risk of injury. It’s a positive that the belt can challenge you, if it didn’t how would your muscles adapt? I’ve certainly found what I can take in terms of pressure so far but it doesn’t mean I won’t push for more next week.

One observation I noticed was that depending on how you sit with the belt, will depend on how comfortable (or uncomfortable) the pressure feels on your stomach. Many times I found I had no choice but to sit forward with my feet on the floor and my knees bent, rather than lying back on the couch with my feet up.

In terms of the effect it’s having on my body, at this stage I’m seeing some visual change to my stomach area, and have noticed the muscles around this area seem to feel harder and stronger when they’re tensed without the belt around me. In my opinion, this is a serious positive for the product.

I’m looking forward to being challenged further with the belt next week and hopefully will see even better results.
