My latest product review comes in association with The Chief Chocolate Officer and halftwine.com, that’s right, it’s all about chocolate & wine (what a combination I’m sure you’ll agree!).
They have teamed up to create a beautiful gift set that’s absolutely perfect for anyone who love that wine and chocolate combination which have been expertly paired together.
I was sent bottles of wine in a case, the Chardonnay which was paired with a White Chocolate, Toffee & Orange Blosson, as well as a red wine which was a Crozes Hermitage and was paired with a dark chocolate, liquorice & rose.
Although I’m not a wine or chocolate expert (although I’ve certainly had my fair share!) I still felt I could learn something about the wine itself, as well as really enjoy the taste combination, and I wasn’t disappointed.
As soon as I tried the red wine I knew it was of a high quality. There was no sharpness to it. Instead it was full-bodied, with a strong flavour. What was even more impressive is just how well it paired with the liquorice, dark chocolate combination.
The Chardonnay was a lovely treat too. It wasn’t too dry and was quite light, which is just how I like white wine. The chocolate that it was paired with helped release additional flavours with its toffee & orange. You could really tell a lot of thought had gone into this.
My process was to first have a drink of the wine then eat a small amount of the chocolate to see how well they combined together. To savour each mouthful and scoff the lot in one or two go’s wasn’t the easiest, especially after a stressful day! But being patient and enjoying each sample was what made the experience so much fun and a real treat.
As Christmas is fast approaching and you’re wondering what you can buy that’s a bit different from previous years, I couldn’t think of a better product out there for both wine and chocolate lovers to enjoy. It’s quite a unique gift and the full range pairs up 6 different bottles of wine with 6 selected chocolates, all with their own unique flavours.
I’ve attached the full information brief below for all of the details and I really hope you get to enjoy it as much as I did!
