Quench Your Thirst With These Healthy Alternatives To Soda

25/07/2021 by Adam

If your first choice is to drink soda whenever you feel thirsty, you definitely need to read this article.

According to the reports of The Obesity Society, approximately 61% of kids and 50% of adults drink soda on a daily basis. It might make you feel refreshed for a few minutes. However, excessive consumption of soda or soft drinks is actually not good for your health.

It can lead to obesity and increase your craving for sweets. Furthermore, drinking soft drinks is also associated with a higher risk of stroke, colorectal cancer, and heart disease.

Scary, isn’t it?

But, now the question is, what else are your options for quenching your thirst, if not soda? Scroll down to find out!

  • Create Flavoured Water

The first alternative on the list is drinking water. Needless to say, your body needs water to stay hydrated. And no other drink hydrates the body as good as water does. However, if you don’t like to drink plain water, you can add a little bit of fruit punch to it. Believe it or not, but creating flavored water is easier than you can imagine.

Just slice your favorite fruits and herbs in iced-cold water. You can also add a bit of salt or honey if you like. But keep the quantity within a limit. Mix them well, and there you have it! Your homemade refreshing and healthy drink.

  • A Moderate Glass Of Wine

If you like to mix your drinks with soft drinks to elevate their taste, why don’t you try sipping wine instead? Yes, you read it right!

Wine, especially the red one, is very healthy for your body and skin (if consumed in moderate amounts). In addition to reducing your cravings for something sweet, it improves heart health. Furthermore, the antioxidants present in the drink can reduce skin breakout, offering clean and radiating skin. Keeping all these benefits in mind, you should try wine subscription service (bi-monthly, monthly, or quarterly, the decision is upon you to make.) It will also give you an opportunity to try out different flavors, and maybe you’ll find a great and healthy replacement for your soft drinks.

  • Give A Try To Green Tea Or Kombucha

If you are searching for the healthiest option, you can give it a try to green tea or kombucha. It is no longer a secret that green tea is beneficial for obesity, contains zero calories, and is high in antioxidants. Thus, you can get a good body and younger-looking skin. Nonetheless, if you don’t like the bitter taste of green tea, you can add a little bit of honey to it.

Otherwise, you can try kombucha, also known as fermented tea. It is a good source of probiotics and is proven to satisfy your carbonation cravings. However, kombucha is not recommended to pregnant and breastfeeding ladies.

To Sum It All Up!

Drinking soda might curb your cravings instantly; however, it can possibly lead to several health conditions if not taken care of. Fortunately, the alternative drinks mentioned above can also help you tame your cravings along with reducing your thirst. Moreover, these drinks are healthier. So, you don’t have to worry about obesity or anything else.
