How To Push Yourself To Be More Active When You Just Don’t Feel Like It

We are all guilty of being a little lazy from time to time. There is absolutely nothing wrong than just downing tools from time to time and enjoying a little light chill-time. In fact it’s downright necessary, as we all need to recharge our batteries from time to time and just spend time to ourselves doing nothing in particular.

However whilst is it highly necessary to be a little bit lazy from time to time, it is also important to not let it seep too much into our everyday lives. It can be all too tempting to push that work out to another day, or say that you’ll walk to work next week rather than starting this week as you’d promised yourself.

So here are our tips on finding ways to motivate yourself to stay active and exercise, even when it’s absolutely the last thing that you want to do.

Look the Part

Getting yourself into your finest sporting threads is the best place to start if you’re feeling a little too lethargic to commit to your evening workout or afternoon jog. Getting yourself out there, just one step at a time is the best place to start. So if you’re feeling like you just can’t be bothered, just tell yourself to simply get into your gym gear and then see how you feel. Chances are just seeing yourself in your most active outfit will give you an extra boost of motivation to crack on with your days exercise.

If you are feeling that your sporty wardrobe is leaving a little to be desired why not treat yourself to some nice new sports clothes to give you that all important boost to stay committed to your fitness routine. Maybe you don’t need a complete gym wardrobe overhaul, perhaps just a few small items like headbands at Suddora could be just what you need to be confidently and motivatedly strutting off down to the gym or off to meet your friends for that saturday morning zumba or boxing class.

Eating For Energy

If you are working out a lot but not eating enough, there is little wonder you never feel like working out. That is because you simply do not have enough energy to be pulling your body off the sofa for another gruelling session at the gym. So you need to be very mindful of what you are eating if you want to really stay on track with your physical lifestyle.

Look at the ways you are getting protein into your diet as protein is incredibly important for anyone that wants to stay motivated with enough energy to keep up a really active and healthy lifestyle. So make sure you are getting your protein from the best sources such as oily fish, eggs and of course a good weekly sirloin steak to really kick start that work out energy.

Iron is also really important for people who work out a lot. If you are feeling currently that you just don’t have enough energy to get down to the gym at the end of the day maybe you have a low level of iron that is pulling down the overall energy of your body. So look into taking some iron supplements that’ll get you fighting fit again and itching to get back to your normal fitness routine.
