Oh how things have changed

22/02/2020 by Adam

Fitness and nutrition are essential to a quality life. Or at least they were. But in these modern times, we tend to forget how important it is to care about ourselves. Most of us are stuck in our lousy sedentary lifestyles, and it’s becoming evident. You have more and more obese people in the streets. And you have more and more kids with buff fingers, and yet, the rest of their body has atrophied from all those video games. Something needs to change, but how can it change? It seems like today, to stay in shape and to eat right, you have to make it a consistent decision. Motivation isn’t the key here anymore. It’s the discipline. And it today’s article, we’re going to discuss that, so let’s begin!

First of all, what constitutes a healthy individual? That is a bit of a mystery, even today. But, the consensus is this – an individual that eats right and exercises at least a few times a week and doesn’t put crap into their body. And how come those three simple things are so hard? Well, there are a few theories. The first one is the amount of comfort that we have today. We have these comfy beds, these advanced gaming chairs that look like they’re from outer space, and other things as well. You don’t have to hunt, and your fridge is full. And of course, you don’t even have to look for a mate anymore. Why would you do that when you can pull the best adult porn games and have the time of your life! But then, after a while, when you start to feel weaker physically, and numb emotionally, you start to wonder. Why do all these supposedly amazing things feel so wrong and so bad, and you’ve been doing them for ages. Unfortunately, life is a bit of a complicated journey. The reasonable explanation is that nothing that you get instantly will feel great.

Instant gratification is a real thing that’s killing these individuals all across the planet. Instead of working for what they want, and for what they need, people now seem to get it. Of course, you still have to work eight hours a day, but we’re not talking about that. We’re talking about how there’s a fast replacement for anything. Sick of hunting? Order a freaking burger. Sick of working out? You can hook up with insecure chicks, or you can photo-shop abs on yourself to get a foreign chick to text you. Sick of chasing girls? Well, that’s fine, you can play with yourself, and you can turn some free adult games on. There’s no need for you even to try. But what do these things do to your brain? Well, they pretty much fire it up, and all of that is for nothing. You get a massive surge of dopamine and some other hormones, but as we already mentioned, it’s all for nothing. It’ll light your brain up, and you’ll feel fantastic for a while, and then what?

Then, you’ll start to shut down. You’ll have to chase even more of that thing that you crave, and all of these mentioned things are vices. Since you’ve been abusing the dopamine systems in your brain, now nothing normal excites you. Do you want to watch a movie? No-no, unless it has some seriously wicked action. Do you want to pet your cat? Good luck, you’ll feel no joy from it. We can go on with examples, but you pretty much get the point. So, how to beat these things? Well, the best option is to quit cold turkey, but most people can’t do it. They say that quitting cold turkey takes massive will power, but that’s wrong. With only will power on your side, you’ll always fail. You need discipline. And since you trained your brain to respond to free sex games and other harmful things, you can do the opposite as well. You can unlearn these behaviors once again, and finally replace them with something good. That should fix your dopamine receptors while making you happier and more content with life. So, if you’re planning to do that, you have our full support. It’s not going to be easy, and it’ll feel like you’re in hell. But, you pretty much have to endure all the darkness to see the light. It’s as simple as that, and we believe in you. So, good luck on your self-improvement journey, and we hope that you’ll succeed in it!
