Control

For some people eating whatever they want, when they want it can give them a sense of control. It can correlate to be in control their feelings, as some people eat down what they are experiencing. It can be because they are uncomfortable showing their emotions. Or, that they have learned that this is unacceptable from an early age.

For other, it can be a way of exerting their control in a situation where they this is lacking for them. For example, they may have had overbearing parents. Or they may be in a job that they hate.

If this is the case for you or someone that you love, it may be time to accept some help in changing these behaviors which can be maladaptive in the long run. Speak to a counselor or psychologist to help you develop a healthier relationship with food.

Metabolism

The type of food that we can eat and in what quantities, is often dependent on our metabolism. This is how quickly the body processes and uses the energy that it takes in from food.

If we have a fast metabolism, we can burn off energy quickly. While a slower one may store the energy as fat instead of using it straight away.

If you want to speed your metabolism up, there are few things that you can do to help. The first is to add chili powder to your food, which is said to get your metabolism fired up. So lots of chili powder on eggs, spicy curries and other treats like these for you.

You can also try a smoothie or two to help you rev up your metabolism. Follow the recipe for a metabolism boosting green tea smoothie. The recipe is available from http://www.thereciperebel.com.

Remember that to make a proper smoothly you will need the right kitchen equipment including a good blender. If yours has seen better days check out some recommendations at sites like https://www.blenderfriend.com/. There you can find some reviews that will help you pick the best one for your metabolism boosting smoothies.

Balance

Unfortunately, it is unrealistic to think that we can always eat whatever we like and remain fit and healthy. But it can also be just as damaging to keep to a strict diet routine at all times. The key to being successful is here is a balance.

It is vital that if you have made healthy choices during the week, that you allow yourself at least one meal or a day where you loosen the reigns. Having a treat or two now and then will allow you to keep to your plan in the long term, without feeling constantly denied. This might mean that you want to allow yourself to have those snacks that you have had your eye on for the last couple of days, or you might want to look into roof top dining adventures to give yourself something super fun to do. Just remember that balance is important, and if you try to avoid it, you’re going to break your diet.
