Losing Weight – Introduction

14/08/2014 by Adam

My blog is mainly about making great, nutritious meals that are easy to make and will hopefully help improve the variety of what you decide to cook at home. It is also about general fitness, being active and healthy, as well as helping those who want some tips and pointers on losing a few pounds. I mean who hasn’t at some point said ‘I could do with losing a little weight’.

The way I see it is you have to love yourself no matter what weight you are. Once you accept you’re happy within yourself, only then will you start to accept the lifestyle changes as something you want to do for you, rather than in the hope that it will make you happier.

A few years ago I was at 19% Body Fat and worked very hard to get down to 6.2%. I lost 20 pounds in body fat because I wanted to and was determined enough to do it (although I do occasionally still dream about doughnuts!)

Each week I’ll go through everything that I went through to get to where I am now and how you can apply it too (if you want to!). We’ll look at every aspect of losing weight, from how to get started, to the right exercises, nutrition, what to avoid and much more. I won’t bore you with science and understanding the Biology side of things, I’ll just tell you what works.

The key message I want to introduce is being committed. Whatever your goal, your desire, what you want to achieve, you have got to be 100% behind this change to your lifestyle, because these posts aren’t diet-related or short-term results, they’re lifestyle changes that will last for a long time.

So start to think about what it is you’re after, write a few notes and get some ideas together, if I can do this then so can any of you!

Part 1 is on it’s way…

Adam
