Leg Day Workout Ideas You Will Love

11/10/2017 by Adam

Legs, bums and tums are all problem areas for most people, but finding a workout that you are comfortable with isn’t always the easiest thing to do. You see, exercise can be fairly boring and if you’re stuck in a cycle of doing the same workouts all the time, you won’t ever be able to enjoy exercise.

The key to working out without getting bored is to keep it fun, varied and making it work for you. You can’t spot reduce areas on your body for fat loss, but you can trim and tone your entire physique so that you lose weight and inches at the same time. There are plenty of exercises out there that you can do in the home or in the gym, but you can change up those workouts by taking them outside. Make your cycle to work a challenge with accessories by Power Meters to crank up the speed of your bike. Changing up your commute not only helps you to burn off the calories, it keeps that bike ride fun! So, what other exercises can you do to maximise leg day, have fun and tone up that thigh circumference?

  1. Cardio. We all know that getting the heartrate up is going to help burn calories and therefore, fat, when working out. Cardio workouts like running and Zumba classes are going to tone your thighs while working out the rest of your body at the same time. By sticking to doing cardio for a minimum of thirty minutes at a time, three times a week, you’re going to keep your heart healthy.
  2. Low Impact. Swimming is one of the best – and hardest – low impact workouts you could possibly do. Taking yourself through the water gives you a resistance you won’t find simply running outside, so you’re toning your thighs, core and arms all at the same time.
  3. Yoga. Believe it or not, yoga isn’t just about breathing and meditation. Slowly moving from pose to pose can give you a strength that you weren’t expecting. Your balance in these poses are what keeps your muscles strong and the more you strengthen those muscles, the more toned that your thighs become. You can’t spot reduce, but you can still work on strength.
  4. Climbing. Rock-climbing walls and even real mountains are a great tool to get out of the house – and the gym – and workout outside. Climbing is not an easy workout to do, and you can read more here about to successfully managing a great climbing session.
  5. Weights. Talk to a personal trainer at your gym before going ahead here, but doing weights can be an excellent way to tone your leg muscles. A dedicated trainer can make you a plan for your strength and weight workouts to target the body in the best way for your goals.

Working out doesn’t have to be boring and if you make the effort to do the research, you can optimise your fitness to ensure you are at your best!
