Summer is almost over and while some people were very diligent and didn’t skip gym even during these months, others have decided that their summer body is good enough and deserves a little break. Of course, there are also the ones who have seen people like those mentioned above and decided that the Summer of 2017 is going to be their summer.
After all, it’s never too early to start preparing your summer body. Now, when it comes to fitness clothing and accessories, everyone has at least one hottie in their gym, who is always dressed up like a true athlete (also with a body like one) with matching shoes and colorful sports bra, or some multicolor yoga pants.
Those are definitely some noticeable garments, aren’t they? For guys, it can be little harder to find cool fitness clothes and accessories, but not impossible. Here are some guidelines that can help.
Starting from the bottom
Even if it seems like a totally unimportant thing, gym shoes should be changed every 6 to 8 months. It’s not nice to see a hot muscular fella with dirty, old, smelly and torn sneakers. When buying gym shoes, if you want to be noticed, take ones with garnish colors, like green, yellow or orange (you can find all kinds in sport shops), or custom designed ones. Just make sure that colors fit your clothing so you don’t look like a clown. Flip-flops are, of course, off limits; except in the locker room or in the shower.
As for the socks, they shouldn’t in any circumstances be torn or washed out. It would be great if you could have a special group of socks which you use only for training.
Shorts should end just above the knee. If they’re longer you will look like a basketball player and if it is shorter… Let’s just say it is not a very pretty sight.
Leggings are also off limits unless there is a pair of shorts over them because you, for obvious reasons.
Torso
Just because you’ll be exercising and getting all sweaty, that doesn’t mean you should use only the oldest or the ugliest shirts you have. Proper fitness clothes exist for a reason, first, because they move the sweat away from the body, and second, because they look super cool.
Some kind of sports watch is always a nice accessory. Not only will it make your arm look nicer, it can also come in handy because you can use it as a stopwatch and even a calorie counter – if it has that function built in.

As for the jewellery, try not to wear it to the gym. First, the sweat can damage it, and second, it can bother you while working out.
Head
Since it is still hot outside, you should use it and work out outside on the fresh air while you can. If the sun bothers you, you can buy a cool and eye-catching pair of Dragon sunglasses to help you deal with the glare and protect your eyes. The ones with orange or blue lenses should be perfect and will definitely be attention grabbing.
Another way to protect your head are hats. Make sure that your hat is made for sports and out of the right material, so your head doesn’t boil inside of it.

The last but not least are the headphones. If you love listening to music while working out, wear them, but make sure to use wireless ones. Bulky headphones get gross when you get sweaty, and the wired ones can bother you and get in the way of your workout.
So there you have it, the ultimate guide to the do’s and don’ts when it comes to men’s gym accessories. Remember, if you look good around your gym, you won’t just get a lot of looks and compliments from others, you will feel better about yourself which may lead to increased performance.
