(GUEST) 6 Exercises That Can Help Relieve Allergies

04/08/2016 by Adam

Anyone with allergies understands how miserable life can be with allergy symptoms, but sometimes medications alone may not be enough to relieve those symptoms. Finding alternative options can prove helpful. Exercises for instance, help reduce your allergy symptoms by improving blood flow in the body and helping to remove allergens. However, it is recommended to avoid outdoor activities when there are high levels of pollen. On these days, you should try to remain indoors and keep windows closed. This may mean you will need to use your air conditioning instead so make sure you have it regularly serviced by an expert from somewhere similar to Morris Jenkins, for example. Exercising outdoors when the weather is cooler is more beneficial to relieving your allergies.

Common Allergies Symptoms

Allergy symptoms can occur in many different ways, while making our lives difficult. Luckily, exercise can be the most beneficial way to help reduce your symptoms and help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, sometimes medication prescribed by a doctor, such as Dymista, can be used to help relieve those unwanted symptoms.

  • Sinus pressure
  • Nasal congestion
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Itchy eyes
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Ear discomfort

Yoga

Yoga is good for just about anyone who is capable to help relax, focus, strengthen, and loosing those bones through deep breathing and stretching. Personally, I love yoga. Every time I leave a practice I feel rejuvenated and at peace. Also, especially if you are doing hot yoga the amount of steam and heat in the room can really help clear up your sinuses.

Pilates

Pilates is much like yoga as it also helps you with relaxing your body, and making you more limber. This can really help take your mind off of your allergies so that you are stress free and therefore less likely to get sick.

Racquetball & Tennis

Tennis is one of my very favorite sports. It always helps me clear my mind. Racquetball and tennis are very energetic exercises that require short bursts of energy, helping with getting the blood flowing more quickly. Not only will you get an amazing workout, but it may help to relieve some allergy symptoms. If you’re worried that you can’t play tennis very well, you could always take a look at these tennis videos, or other online videos, to see if you can pick up a few last minute tips. Don’t be too worried though, you don’t need to know how to play professionally!

Aquatic Workout

Water exercise is one of the best workouts you can get if done properly because of the resistance water provides. It gives you an amazing workout, and it acquires little effort and little or no pain. You also have the option of using an indoor pool if the pollen is too high, and warmth from the pool water can help clear your nasal passages.

Running

Running outside during cool weather is great to get the blood flowing to clear your allergies up. If the pollen is too high, you also have the option of working out inside on a treadmill.

Strength Training

Strength training is also a great way to help relieve those annoying allergies. It is considered a short bursts of energy exercise that can help get the blood flowing fast. Strength training can be done through slow motion to help build more muscle or faster to help increase energy.

Paying close attention to the signs and symptoms of your allergies, and finding ways to help relieve them is essential to feeling better. Make sure that you are talking to your doctor to discuss your exercise routine and possible medications that may be helpful in getting on the road to enjoying life with fewer allergy symptoms.
