After a very difficult and inconvenient last few days of driving to and from my old place, moving furniture, loading the car and unpacking everything, I’m finally at my new house. These past few days have really taken my tolerance for stress to that next level, however I’m finally able to relax and write this review of Gold Standard Nutrition’s Pot-o-Gold products.
In fact whilst everything was everywhere and I didn’t know where to even locate the nearest frying pan, the very first dinner I had at the new address was the Steamed Chicken Vegetable Rice Pot-o-Gold (with some additional chilli sauce!).
The products are so unbelievably convenient to use I don’t know how I survived without them!
They are microwavable pots of chicken that come with plenty of rice and vegetables, in a variety of exciting flavours from Barbecue to Piri-Piri, from Tikka Masala to Chilli Black Bean or even Sweet Chilli, I’ve enjoyed them all and will continue to use them long after this review gets published.
I used to make these chicken pots manually which involved seasoning the chicken, cooking it, slicing it, making the rice separate, as well as the vegetables. This is perfectly fine to do if you’ve got the time to prep, however the convenience of taking a pot out of the freezer, cooking it for 5 minutes, mixing it through and cooking for a further minute and it’s ready is really no comparison.
Using these pots saves me so much time and allows me to spend more time at the gym as well as working on the blog itself.
There’s also no compromise on flavour. Whether you eat the cooked pot right away, or prepare it for work and leave it in a container to chill. They taste great either way.
One main surprise with these pots was just how generous Gold Standard Nutrition are with the amount of chicken you actually get inside. In the past I’ve bought ready meals or even been to restaurants and have been so disappointed with the lack of meat, it’s enough to put you off from returning.
The chicken itself is steamed rather than fried which means it retains much more nutritional content and also contains at least 30g of protein in each pot. This fits perfectly in line with my own fitness and nutritional goals because as many of you know, it can be difficult meeting your daily protein quota.
There’s a nice portion of veg in there too. Broccoli, Carrot, Cauliflower are all key vegetables that will ensure your body gets the best nutrition available and you’ll notice the benefits too. Since I’ve made them part of my daily routine I have more energy than I had before and I’ve also spent less at the supermarket, which brings me onto the price.
Right now you can get 12 of these Pot-o-Gold products (in your choice of flavourings) for £30, which works out at £2.50 per pot which I’d say is pretty decent for what you actually get, not to mention the time you’ll save cooking these.
There’s also a 10% discount code available which you apply on checkout: ‘foodandfitnessalways‘ because I want you guys to experience why I’m raving about these pots!

Love the Pot O Gold meals, they are very tasty and have plenty of sauce. Great to take to work for lunch. So munch chicken and veg in these little boxes. I will buy more as they don;t take up any room in the freezer.
