Cooking The Perfect Steak

21/04/2016 by Adam

When I first started cooking, one of the first things I was so desperate to learn about was how to cook that perfect steak.

I mean I’d been out to restaurants and it would always be one of the first menu items I’d check out before attempting to look at what else was on offer (then I’d end up returning back to the steak anyway!).

I loved the succulent, meaty flavour and the tenderness of the various cuts. Especially when it was combined with a delicious peppercorn or bernaise sauce.

As I got older, it remained a favourite of mine yet I’d become braver and have it cooked less and less, from well-done, right down to raw, which is how I always have it cooked these days. In my opinion, the less it’s cooked,  the more flavour from the meat itself.

My appreciation for steak hasn’t dwindled and cooking it from the comfort of your own kitchen is just as satisfying as ordering out.

So today I’ve been asked by the lovely people at Jamie Oliver’s new Barbecue Steakhouse ‘Barbecoa‘ to share with you their own infographic on how to expertly cook that perfect steak. I’ve read through this information a number of times and couldn’t agree with it more.

It’s the kind of advice I wish I’d been given when I was first getting used to being in the kitchen and learning to cook.

Speaking of the restaurant itself, I love the concept of combining the smokey barbecue flavourings with the variety of steaks on offer, not to mention how I agree with Jamie about the ‘cheaper/secret cuts’ that can be just as delicious as the more popular ones.

I hope you found this information useful. Feel free to print it off or bookmark the page, and if you’d like to know more about Barbecoa then click here or to get in touch directly check out their Twitter and Facebook pages. Personally, I cannot wait to visit!

So here’s to that perfect steak, however you like it cooked!
