Aesthetic Essentials – 5 Ways Good Grooming Can Boost Sales And Win New Clients

27/11/2019 by Adam

We all know that, deep down, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. However, that doesn’t mean a sharp suit and fresh breath can’t help you along in your career. Competition is fierce in the world of business. So, any way you can get ahead is worth a punt, especially when it’s as easy as improving your grooming practices. Here are five ways good grooming can boost sales and win new clients:

Taking Care Of Your Teeth = Taking Care Of Business

Smiling is how we humans let people know we’re happy. We also flirt with our smile and express ourselves in a multitude of ways. White, beautiful teeth can enhance your smile, in turn boosting your friendly factor. A great smile also tells others that you take care of your health and hygiene. Porcelain veneers are a convenient and easy way to perfect your grin, giving you that all-important standout factor at your next pitch.

2. What You Wear Doesn’t Matter… Except That It Does

A recent study showed that companies care less about what you wear these days, so long as you’re producing results. The thing is, that fact only counts once you’ve gotten your foot in the door. First impressions matter, and you won’t get the chance to show the substance behind your image if your image isn’t polished. So while it’s nice that employers aren’t so intense about office attire these days, that doesn’t mean you should slack off.

3. You Can Smell Your Way To Success

Our sense of smell is connected to emotion in the deepest parts of the human brain. Certain scents remind us of cherished times; some make us feel calm, others stimulate us and make us feel energized. When it comes to business, you can turn smelling great to your advantage.

In an experiment, subjects exposed to nice fragrances were more likely to rate people in photographs as attractive. When they did it without the influence of scent, they were far less kind in their assessments. In business, having a fresh and clean aura, and perhaps using a universally appreciated fragrance, could really help you smell your way to success.

4. What You Wear Changes How Confident You Feel

Power dressing is something that has long been acknowledged as a strategy in business for those looking to embody the person they want to be. Wearing the kind of clothes a successful person would wear, even if you’re not quite there yet, tells your brain that you are powerful and confident. A recent study even confirmed this, showing that formal clothes boost the way we feel about ourselves and the world.

5. Better Body Language For Better Business

Research tells us that body language is responsible for more than 50% of communication. So, it makes sense to give yourself a solid foundation to work from. When you’re dressed in clothes that make you feel good, you smell nice, your hair is combed, and you’re clean, your body language is better.

From power poses whilst giving a presentation, to a confident approach with clients, and that all-important strong handshake, give yourself the best possible chance of holding yourself well with a groomed look that makes you stand tall.

Looking and smelling great is your first step to success. Dressing sharply is a matter of personal pride, and the ability to present a confident self to any business scenario is the icing on your well-groomed cake.
