Today I want to introduce one of the best compound movement exercises that’s out there (and has been for years). Many experts believe that if you could only choose one exercise for the rest of your life, this would be the one.
The reasoning behind this is that it works your legs, abs, core, buttocks, back and arms. It really is the most effective all-round exercise in my opinion and doing it correct will be of great benefit to your future body composition.
Start by standing with your legs about shoulder-width apart whilst grasping the dumbell with both hands and holding it out in front of you, with a slight bend in your arms.
Breathe in deeply and slightly arch your back by moving your pelvis forward.
Your feet should be facing slightly off forwards to help maintain balance.
Lower your body whilst trying not to let your knees come in front of your feet. You should feel a slight pull on your hamstrings and continue to hold the dumbell out in front of you whilst keeping your arms in the same position.
Keep your back straight throughout the exercise to avoid injury.
When your thighs are facing the floor, slowly straighten your legs whilst exhaling and lift your body back to it’s original position.
