6 Ways Instant Pot Saves You Time

09/02/2018 by Adam

Everyone enjoys eating but its the cooking process that most dread. Be it a three-course meal or a quick snack, most of our cooking preferences are highly influenced by the total preparation time. While gourmet chefs tend to call in extra hands for their presentations, us normal folks are happy to rely on nothing but our instant pots. Yes, this kitchen must-have compliments all kinds of dishes but on top of that, it is a great way to save time on preparing meals. In case you still haven’t experienced the goodness of instant pots, here’s how the instant pot can help you get quick meals:

1. The Multi-Purpose Cooking Experience

Instant pots are an all-in-one gadget that do the jobs of pressure cooker, slow cooker, saute/browning pans, yogurt makers and more. Due to its extensive features, you can perform multiple tasks all at the push of a button. This does not only save much of your money, but it saves a good portion of your minutes, all while requiring minimum effort at your end.

2. Cooking from Scratch

If you crave some delightful meals but are mortified by the thought of actually starting from scratch, then the instant pot will greatly help you. Be it steaks, broils, stubborn chickpeas or beans, or even quinoas, with an instant pot you don’t have to worry about it being under-cooked. With the right programs and pressure-release, you can tackle the most toughest meals and even bulk cooking, with expectations of nothing less than perfection.

3. Saying Hello to the Timer

Now because most of its functioning involves setting timer, this gives you a lot of time to run other errands. This means that you don’t have to dedicate yourself strictly to the stove while cooking. With an instant pot, you can select the function of your choice, set the timer, and simply wait for the machine to beep while you can micro-manage your other tasks. You don’t have to manage the cooking, you just need to select the right function and get the best results.

4. Switching from Saute to Slow Cooking

Usually, once you are done with the saute part you need to prepare for the slow cooking, which involves a whole other set of utensils and effort. In the instant pot, all it takes is the press of a button and Voila! you are slow cooking your sauteed food. No transferring, no cleaning just instant cooking.

5. The Clever Trivets

So what if you want to prepare two different recipes at the same time. Seems quite impossible even with the instant pot right? Cooking involves taking one element at a time, but in case you want to mix and match the elements and cook them together, instant pots can make that happen with nothing but an extra accessory called trivets. With some intelligent cooking, you can make your rich, meaty mains and flavorsome, starchy sides in one go, without having to break your back.

6. Easy Cleaning, Low Maintenance

Probably the most under-rated time saving trick but it’s true- Instant pots are quick and easy when it comes to cleaning. During cooking, utensils take a good beating especially when it involves browning and saute and getting ride of those stains is just madness later one. While the inner pot and other parts of the pot are dish-washer friendly, you can always deep clean them as well, with minimum effort. The best way is to “steam” clean which basically involves running the steam program while adding water and lemon into it. It tends to clean up the inner pot quickly, reliving it from any residual odor.

In short, with an instant pot, you can expect instant and better cooking. And what can be more perfect than having hearty portions in minimum prep-time?
