8 Tips to Make Your Bedroom Feel Extra Cozy

20/01/2022 by Adam

Bedrooms are special rooms in our homes for they help us relax and sleep to be fresh for the next day. We spend almost a third of our day in our bedrooms. Therefore, you should know how to make the bedroom environment cozy and what to add and remove to make it an ideal place to sleep and rest. Also, you can decide to invest your time in improving it to a warm and restful retreat for you and your partner. Below are simple ideas to help you cozy up your bedroom.

  1. Buy a good mattress

If the bed is not comfortable, the bedroom is not cozy. Buy a good mattress and keep flipping it if the manufacturer recommends it. Also, cover it with a waterproof mattress cover and ensure it is the right one for your sleep issues if you have any. According to sleep experts, it is best to replace your mattress every seven years or if you start waking up with aches that you cannot explain. Noa’s mattress quality is ideal, and you can shop for one to change the old one.

  1. Bring books in

Reading a book is a great pre-sleep activity and for general relaxation. Thus, put your reading nook to good use by adding a small bookshelf to add some reading material. It could be a novel or coffee table book, and use this before bedtime for a great relaxing flipping. Magazines are good too. But once you finish them, remove them, for they are flimsy paper and pile up and start feeling like clutter.

  1. Keep technology out

To create a restful sleeping environment, glowing lights from electronics will not provide that, and having a present TV set, only makes it more tempting to watch TV before bed. Plus, according to experts, electronics manipulate the circadian rhythm and cause you not to sleep soundly. Therefore, use your laptop, TV, smartphones, and other electronics out of the bedroom to help your mind relax and prepare you to sleep.

  1. Splurge on great linens

Everyone wants to slip in between soft sheets after a long day. Therefore, as you splurge on bedroom décor, choose good sheets, and you will not regret it. Also, you need a quality down comforter if you want to experience a good night’s sleep. And, as you consider the comforter or duvet, consider the season you use one that is conducive for the current temperatures.

  1. Banish laundry

Remove the clean laundry heap of shirts that need buttons and the many unmatched socks. Also, your dirty laundry basket is clutter to get rid of, especially in your bedroom area. You do not want to see heaps of laundry when you wake up. It shows you already have a task ahead and sets up your day differently. So, you can opt to put them away in another room or fold them and put them away.

  1. Use lamps instead of overhead lighting

Overhead lighting where sleep is paramount is unnecessarily bright. You can choose to put the light fixture on a dimmer or remove it. Use smaller lamps as alternatives to provide a texture of light. Use sturdy lampshades and low-wattage bulbs to diffuse the light throughout the room for maximum coziness. Research and choose the best lamps for your bedroom.

  1. Choose calming, peaceful art

Adding art is a great idea for a cozy bedroom. Art is taste-driven and personal. But, it is vital to avoid high-energy colors such as oranges, reds, and deep yellows. Instead, choose green, blue, or gray tones to create a serene vibe in your bedroom. Also, choose the right size for your room, and if you have a partner, consult them if it is a piece of art they would love to see every day.

  1. Use color to make the space more restful

As you choose your bedroom colors, warm neutrals are the best. Light to mid-tone beige, greys, and browns, and blues are some good picks for your bedroom. As you choose the best colors for your room, choose those that give you a feeling of peace. Also, choose colors you can cool down or warm up with accessories through the seasons.
