In the hierarchy of healthy foods, nuts are underrated.

They don’t get the same buzz that other health foods are showered with. That’s a shame because nuts are very nutritious and everyone should be eating more of it. It’s about time that people learn more about what nuts can really do for their health.

Would you like to know more about the benefits that you can get from eating nuts? Well, here are six reasons why you should go nuts over nuts:

  • It Helps with Weight Loss

In the past, people were told to stay away from nuts if they wanted to shed some weight. It was claimed that the high fat and calorie content of nuts would not be good for those who are weight conscious. The truth is that there are no studies backing up those claims. In fact, evidence points out that nuts could help with losing weight.

  1. Nuts Can Raise Good Cholesterol Level

  1. Nuts Are Rich in Fiber

By now, you should  know about the importance of fiber and its benefits for your health. Fiber can help prevent heart disease and some types of cancer. Also, it is very good for your digestive system. If you’re looking for a good way that you can increase your fiber intake, try eating more nuts. Just a small amount of nuts could meet your daily need for fiber.

  1. Nuts Can Lower Your Blood Pressure

Are you suffering from high blood pressure? If you are, then it would be a great idea if you try to eat more nuts. A study has shown that those who eat nuts on a regular basis have lower blood pressure, compared to those who do not. Just keep in mind that eating nuts will not lower your blood pressure to the point where you wouldn’t have to take your meds anymore.

  1.  Nuts Are Rich in Antioxidants

Antioxidants help protect your body from aging and from breaking down, so foods that are rich in antioxidants are always a welcome addition to your diet and nuts are a good source of it. If you want to stay young, nuts can help.

  1. Omega 3 Fatty Acids

You should aim to get as much Omega 3 fatty acids in your diet and nuts would be a great way for you to increase your consumption of it. Just one serving of walnuts would give you all the Omega 3 fatty acids you need for the day.

There are many other reasons why you should eat nuts everyday. For example, they are also rich in magnesium, which helps in several conditions. In fact, this list could go on and on, but the point will stay the same and that is, you should eat nuts everyday.

So, what are you waiting for? Start munching on those nuts now!
