There is an ancient proverb which claims that your morning will define the rest of your day. Keeping this in mind, always strive to get up feeling frisky, energized and ready to conquer the world.

1. Start Your Day Off Right, Eat Breakfast

You have probably heard a million times about the beneficial aspects of eating breakfast every day. It’s for a good reason why every doctor or professional trainer will tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is because eating a nutritious breakfasts will help your body sustain enough energy levels throughout the day. The best choice of a healthy breakfast is combining all structural elements into your meal. This means eating foods which are rich in fibers and protein, contain complex carbohydrates but also provide the good kind of fats.

 2. Alternative Beverages

There are plenty of morning beverage options you can consider as an alternative to coffee itself and plenty of places to visit to enjoy one, including at Coffee Shop Wynwood. High levels of caffeine, especially early in the morning, are known to interfere with the production of cortisol, a hormone released by the body when found in stressful or dangerous situations.

This means that the body produces less of this hormone and relies more on caffeine. Another negative impact is the well-known fact that caffeine can cause addiction similar to a drug. Because of this, it’s better to consider some alternative methods of a quick wake-up like herbal teas, smoothies made from nuts, pomegranate juice or lemon water. Make sure to have a reliable blender because you’ll need to make smoothies every now and then in summer. OurFoodandHome has an excellent guide on how to choose the best one.

3. Stay Hydrated

One of the most important things when it comes to taking care of your overall health is making sure you are keeping your body hydrated. When your body does not get the appropriate amount of water it has a hard time processing information, it loses its energy and strength levels, interferes with your blood circulation, digestion and other normal body functions.

Doctors recommend drinking about 8 glasses of water per day. Keeping this in mind, always make sure to carry a bottle of water wherever you go. This is especially important if you are going exercising and your body is losing more water by sweating. There are many quality gym bags in the Ryder wear collection that have special compartments for water bottles making it easier to stay hydrated while exercising.

4. Decrease Packaged/Refined Goods

No matter how much you enjoy your favourite sweets and snacks, be wary of one thing – most of these packaged foods are loaded with harmful ingredients, artificial flavourings and colours, tons of sugar and other preservatives and stabilizers. This makes these refined goods a true hazard for your health. The best way to be sure of what you are purchasing is to carefully read the ingredients. If there are certain additions you are not well acquainted with, perhaps it’s better to skip that snack.

5. Eat Local, Whole Foods

Perhaps the best way to make sure that the foods you’re eating are healthy and nutritious is to know where you are buying your food and what you are actually buying. Buying whole foods from your local merchants or farmers markets are the best indicators that your groceries are fresh, healthy and not treated with toxic chemicals. Always rely on fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds to make sure you are nurturing your health.

“You are what you eat”. The foods you eat and the beverages you drink have a lot of impact on your overall health. Carefully choose your meals, but also be smart, control your bad habits and start practicing a more sustainable way of life.
