4 Ways to Turn Your Love of Health and Fitness into a Career

If you have a passion for health, fitness, and wellbeing, you may find yourself wishing for more hours in the day to help you pursue your passion. With today’s busy lifestyles, it can feel impossible to get that perfect balance in life between doing the things that you love and needing to work to pay the bills. But, what if you could turn your passion into your day job, and earn money from doing what you love? Sounds like a dream come true, right? Well, it may just be possible.

All career changes require a lot of careful thought along with plenty of planning. You will need to spend time training in your chosen career choice and to get the appropriate qualifications required. It would be a seriously bad idea just to quit your day job and expect to become a successful lifestyle coach overnight. However, if you are prepared to put in the time and effort required, you may be able to turn your dreams into a reality.

Personal Trainer

Becoming a personal trainer is a popular career choice for people that love fitness. As well as training clients face to face, you also have the option of reaching a more significant client base by getting started as an online personal trainer too. Helping people to improve their fitness levels and achieve their goals is hugely satisfying. Don’t forget that it takes a lot of hard work to build up a big enough client base to quit the day job. A mixture of patience and determination is required to create a successful personal training business.

Swimming Teacher

Swimming is not just a useful way of keeping fit, it is a life skill, and one that could save your life one day. Teaching other people how to swim is a gratifying job. Seeing your pupils making progress with their efforts, improving week by week, before being able to swim unaided is a great feeling. You could work as a swim teacher either for a larger company, or go it alone and set up your own business.

Fitness Instructor

Do you have a favorite fitness class? If so, have you ever thought about making it a job, and passing on your enthusiasm to others? If you are passionate about a discipline such as yoga or pilates and want to bring more of it into your life, teaching it could be a good way of doing this. Training to teach will help you to gain a deeper understanding of the discipline and pass on its benefits to others.

Kids Sports Coach

What better way to put your love for health and fitness to good use than by inspiring the next generation with your enthusiasm? In this age of rising obesity rates and sedentary lifestyles, encouraging young people to be active is more important than ever. Sports can provide a real confidence boost to kids and teach them lots they won’t learn in the classroom about teamwork, the importance of practice, and perseverance.
