4 Benefits of Eating Better Quality Food from Top Producers

We should never forget that food is fuel for our bodies and not just there to fill us up. Thankfully, the growing interest in organic produce, natural coloring, and sustainable farming methods are providing the impetus for supermarkets and specialist food stores to stock up on these items. If it wasn’t for farmers taking care of their land, using top-quality equipment like ones found on sites like fastline and using sustainable methods, we wouldn’t have a lot of the food that we can find in supermarkets.

It’s not possible to get your fitness right by fueling your body with the energy and nutrients that it requires for a great workout without eating right. Eating right means using the best ingredients where all the nutrients are still present.

Here are 4 benefits of eating food from reliable producers to achieve your health and fitness goals in life.

Boosts Your Productivity

Researchers for the Population Health Management publication found that even a single unhealthy choice done regularly could result in lowered productivity in the workplace. People with an unhealthy diet were over 65 percent more likely to suffer a decline in their productivity levels.

When looking at the effects of exercise, people who failed to exercise regularly suffered lower performance in 50 percent of the people surveyed. Smokers were also affected too but to a lesser degree. A poor diet had the single most negative effect on work performance in the survey data from just under 20,000 employees who were surveyed across three companies in different locations across the United States.

Quality Protein Promotes Muscle Growth

When you consume clean protein from quality sources, your muscles function better and can use this source of lean protein to develop. This is useful when performing weight training exercises, but it supports anyone who goes on regular daily walks too.

The issue of needing a healthy approach to food goes back to farm because this is where it all starts. Sustainable farming methods help improve livestock conditions so that the animals live humanely and happily on the farm. This then feeds back to what’s sold on the refrigerated supermarket shelves.

Control Your Weight More Easily

Being able to control your weight by making good food choices helps to reduce excess fat to get back into a healthy weight range. Even a small 5-10 percent drop in body weight can move cholesterol levels down, reduce blood pressure and cut the risk of the onset of Type 2 diabetes.

Adopting a replacement strategy is possibly the easiest way to do it rather than thinking about any changes as a diet. Swap soda for more drinking water, have a side salad rather than a side of French fries at lunch, and snack on veggies instead of chips, which will all help to knock off a few calories off here and there while at the office. Making these types of changes doesn’t take much time, isn’t more expensive and treats your body better in the long run.

Lower Healthcare Costs

With a lower weight, you fall into a different classification which lowers your risk level in the eyes of a health insurer. With the cost of medical insurance rising annually now, it’s imperative that we all do what we can to be a lower risk. Doing so is not only better for our health, but tends to lower our illness frequency and the cost of medical care considerably over time.

A Duke University study in 2013 found that people with a BMI of 33 spent over $500 more on health care annually than other people with a BMI of 25. A previous McKinsey study also showed that obese Americans spend an extra $30bn annually on clothes compared to slimmer people; their health insurance was also double the usual rate too.

In the technology field there’s a saying: “garbage in, garbage out” which means that if you feed bad information into a computer, it can only deliver bad results back to you. Similarly, the body works much the same way with the quality of food, how it’s prepared and how much of it is consumed. Making smarter choices pays dividends when it comes to your health today and in the future too.
