The human body is capable enough of showing us signs of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we do not understand the signals and every two out of three individuals become a victim to chronic dehydration. Water is amongst our basic necessities. But, dehydration is a very serious health concern. And often due to our occupancies, we forget to replenish our body. Thirst is one of the primary indicators that go unheard but there also are other less obvious signs and you need to take them seriously.
- Dry Mouth
Thirst can easily be ignored under the pressure of our chaotic routine. But the dry, sticky and viscous feeling mouth is a signal towards seriously dehydrating body. Drinking water instantly lubricates the mucous membrane in our mouth and dryness is replaced by sufficient amount of saliva.
- Degenerated Skin Cells
Dull and dry skin is a common sign of dehydrated body. If not taken proper care, your skin starts to parch. This leads to blockage of pores which also becomes incapable of being cleared through sweat. So, you need to drink as much water as possible and save your skin from damage.
- Dry Eyes
When your tears aren’t able to provide adequate moisture to your eyes is when the trauma occurs. You furthermore cause damage upon using contact lenses and not drinking sufficient amount of water which eventually dries your tear glands.
- Decrease in Muscle Mass
Water deficiency causes a decline in your muscle mass. So, a regular fluid intake keeps you hydrated, prevents the loss of muscle mass and also stops the development of inflammation.
- Joint Pain
To prevent the bones from grinding against each other, our joints constitute about 80% of water. In the situation of deficit, lubricant between the joints dry up and cause severe pain. But, getting a sufficient supply of fluids makes sure that your joints do not seize up and remain healthy for a longer time.
- Fatigue
There works up a simple logic – Blood and other fluids majorly comprise of water. Whenever there’s a water deficiency, blood gets thicker and heart invests more (forced) energy to circulate the oxygen and required nutrients. This entire process makes you lethargic and drinking enough water is the only solution.
- Unusual Hunger Pangs
There arises an extreme craving for sweet/salty foods when your body doesn’t get enough water. Basically, brain creates false hunger pangs and the body recognizes it as an easy energy option though this does more bad than good.
- Inability to Lose Weight
Lack of water weaken your digestion and lowers your energy. Plus the unhealthy craving and the inability to breakdown the fat nearly makes it impossible for you to get positive results of exercising.
- Mood Swings
The need for water unusually makes you irritable. This leaves a negative impact on your brain. And dehydration eventually causes a hormonal imbalance including anxiety and depression.
- Premature Aging
As we age, our skin tends to lose its elasticity. A long term lack robs off the skins essential nutrients to leave it with wrinkles, crow’s feet, fine lines and sag. With time, damage happens at a much faster rate and gets out of control.
We hope that now you know what has been the root cause of all that damage and what needs to be done. Get your daily dose of energy right away and keep the habit of drinking enough water going!
