Collaboration With MuscleFood & ‘Live Clean’ Meals Review

31/12/2016 by Adam Leave a Comment

Since I first began blogging way back in August 2014 I’ve wanted to work with some of the biggest brands in the world of fitness and nutrition, and with a lot of hard work I’m able to do just that.

As many of you will already have gathered from my social media feeds, I’m now in a position where I’m working with one of the largest sports nutrition retailers on the market, MuscleFood.

Over the coming months you’ll see many brand new and exclusive recipes that are easy to produce, healthy, and of course full of flavour! I’ll be producing these recipes using MuscleFood’s own ingredients due to the quality of them and the huge range they offer on their website.

As I wait for my first order to be delivered I wanted to write about my first experiences with MuscleFood from early December this year, as well as write about their new ‘Live Clean’ meals that I’ve been testing out in the meantime.

Once I was approached by MuscleFood to collaborate together I checked out their website and couldn’t believe the enormous range of products they had to offer. They cover pretty much everything from fresh and frozen ingredients, to protein bars, shakes and even produce their own meals to enjoy.

From my own personal experience I know that there are many online retailers that often only sell their own branded items which means you have to go to multiple places and receive multiple deliveries to get everything you want. Yet from my own in-depth look at MuscleFood’s website, everything is pretty much under one roof as far as I’m concerned. A positive start.

First Experiences
So I was told by one of their team that they’d be sending over some LiveClean meals for me to try out and write-up on which was fine with me. They informed me that each meal was nutritionally balanced and made solely with clean ingredients from their Michelin-starred trained chef.

Once I knew this I couldn’t wait to tuck in and try them out. Expectations were high.

They arrived exactly when I had requested and that in itself was a positive start. I’ve dealt with other companies in the past who’ve just left my frozen food out on the street because they couldn’t nail-down a specific time of delivery. Not with MuscleFood. They let me select the day and then informed me which hour they would be delivering my food items and they were right on time. Another huge positive.

The meals were very well-packaged and looked like they’d be difficult to damage in transit. This was important to me because the last thing you need after placing a major order is for you to sign for it, have the driver leave and for you to open up the package only to find some items have spoilt whilst on route.

LiveClean Meals
MuscleFood currently have 6 varieties of LiveClean meals available to purchase and I was able to try two of them, the ‘Oriental Chicken Pad Thai‘ and the ‘Beef Lasagne with Italian Veg‘.

As many of you will already have seen from my Instagram video of the cooking process. It’s pretty straight-forward! There were two compartments, one for the meat, one for the veg. Usually you’ll place one of the compartments in the microwave first, then add the other for the remaining time.

They were always hot enough each time I followed the instructions on the back. You then simply peel off the opening at the top and pour the contents onto your plate.

And the taste? It was delicious. I was a little surprised being honest that these microwavable meals that can be ready in next to no-time tasted as good as they did.

There was plenty of chicken in the pad thai dish and the noodles were outstanding. There was also plenty of beef in the lasagne and along with the Italian veg went really well together.

You could tell the meals had been carefully thought-out, tried and tested before putting them on the market. They were not rushed and I like that about MuscleFood.

So what’s the catch? I mean they tasted good, they were healthy and they can be on your plate in 2-3 minutes. The answer: I’ve honestly not found one. According to their website there is no MSG, nothing artificial, no soy lecithin and no artificial trans fats.

These meals would be perfect for anyone on the go, who cares about their nutrition and well-being but may not always have the time to produce a healthy lunch from scratch.

I know I often fit into this category and I’ll be more than happy to keep these stocked. Don’t let the fact that they can be ready so quickly or that they’re a ‘ready-meal’ put you off because these aren’t your typical ready-meal you’ll come across in your local supermarket.

Conclusions
So for my very first experience with MuscleFood I cannot fault them. Their range is full and well-balanced, their delivery and packaging is reliable, the meals they themselves produce is of a very high quality that tastes great.

I’m looking forward to our collaboration over the next 12 months and can’t wait to get started and share these new recipes, as well as their products with you guys! I’ll also be sharing a personal discount code very soon so you’ll get even more benefits from your own orders with them!
