[ RECIPE ] Homemade Tomato Sauce

Serves: 2 Servings
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Red Onion (chopped)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 Garlic Clove (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Chilli Flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Oregano
  • 200ml Passata
  • Handful of Cherry Tomatoes
  • Pinch of Caster Sugar
Instructions
  1. ⁠Place a medium-sized saucepan on a medium-high heat with the olive oil. Once hot enough add the red onion and season with salt and pepper then cook for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the garlic and fry for a further few minutes.
  3. Next add the red wine vinegar and cook out for a minute before adding the balsamic vinegar.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients to the saucepan, place the lid on and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer the contents to a blender and leave to cool before blitzing to a smooth sauce.
